Friday Five: Sleepwear edition

Sophia poses these questions over at the RevGals site:
As the weather cools off into a lovely fall, my son and daughter are rediscovering their joy in cozy footed "pajammies"--though not to sleep in. They love to hang out in the pjs before bed or in the morning, but when it's time to actually sleep they strip to their skivvies! Good thing they finally have their own rooms, now that they are getting older.
Without going to TMI land, share with us your sleepwear memories and preferences....

1. What was your favorite sleeping attire as a child? And did you call them pjs, pajamas (to rhyme with llamas), pajamas (to sort of rhyme with bananas), jammies, or ???
PJs, definitely, but when I was very young, jammies.

2. Favorite sleepwear put on your own little ones, or perhaps those you babysat? (Bonus points if you made it).
NA...I have no little ones, and it's been too long since I babysat one to remember. But footie pajamas are the cutest!

3. How about today-do you prefer nightgown, pajamas, undies, or au naturel?
I prefer "loungewear"--oversized t-shirt and knit or flannel pants--for lounging around. When I crawl in bed, I lose the pants but retain my undies.

4. Silky smooth or flannel-y cozy?
Cozy, all the way. Prefer knits to anything else!

5. Socks or bare feet?
Naked feet...they're my temperature regulator: when the dog and my husband produce too much heat, I stick one or both feet out from under the covers to cool down.

Bonus: Funny story regarding sleepwear (or the lack thereof).
Hmmm...I tend to get sick when I get too hot, and so in college I sometimes suffered, even though I had a window a/c unit. One night I just couldn't get cool enough, so I took a cool shower and crawled into bed with nothing on.
Ten minutes later: Fire alarm went off. I went out in a sheet.

As an added bonus (or punishment, you decide): my favorite camp song from when I was a child:

  1. Great play, I too use my feet for the same reason. And the fire drill story...why I don't sleep in the nude I guess. I always figured something like that would happen.
